Kushtha (Saussurea lappa), Vacha (Acorus calamus), Shati (Hedychium spicatum), Devadaru, Tagara, Siddhartha, Saindhava lavana, finely ground
Classical Indications
External use in Amavata, Sandhigata Vata, Vata-Kapha musculoskeletal conditions, Shotha, Stambha, peripheral Vata disorders. Used by practitioners as the herbal base for Pinda Sweda, Patra Pinda Sweda, Lepa, and Udvartana applications.
Application
For Pinda Sweda, tie warmed powder into a cloth bolus moistened with Kottamchukkadi Thailam or warm medicated oil; apply over the affected region. For Lepa, prepare a paste with warm water or medicated oil and apply as a poultice. Quantity per session depends on area treated.
