Netra Prakshalana Eye Cups

Nirmal Ayurveda

Netra Prakshalana Eye Cups are traditional Ayurvedic vessels used for Netra Prakshalana — a classical Ayurvedic eye wash therapy in which medicated herbal water or Triphala water is used to cleanse and refresh the eyes. Described in classical Dinacharya (daily routine) texts, regular eye washing is traditionally valued for maintaining ocular clarity, reducing strain, and supporting the long-term health of the eyes (Drishti Prasadana). Typically made from brass or copper, these cups are standard equipment in classical Ayurvedic eye care protocols.

Key Features

  • Traditional cup design — shaped to fit snugly around the eye socket for complete eye immersion during the wash
  • Classical material — brass or copper construction; compatible with herbal decoction use
  • Set of two — one for each eye; to be used separately to prevent cross-contamination
  • Care — rinse thoroughly with clean warm water after each use; dry completely

How to Use (Netra Prakshalana)

Prepare the wash solution (traditionally cooled Triphala decoction or rose water — as prescribed by an Ayurvedic practitioner). Fill each cup with the solution. Place the cup over the closed eye, then tilt the head back, open the eye, and gently blink several times while rotating the gaze in all directions. Empty and refill for the second eye. Perform once or twice daily as part of morning Dinacharya or as directed by a practitioner.

For external ocular use only. Use only clean, appropriately prepared solutions. Consult an Ayurvedic practitioner before beginning an eye wash practice.
